ADVENTURE - AMAZONAS  • 4 days (3 days)

Only twenty minutes from Pt. Ayacucho, following the Orinoco and set in between the two rapids of Ature and Maipure you will come to the Lodge ORINOQUIA.
This place was built with good taste following the typical native pattern and fits perfect into its surroundings, offers comfort and a pleasant atmosphere. There are five double rooms or triple, each equipped with private bath, ventilators and mosquito nets. The lounge, which is the spacious “Churuata” serves as such and also is restaurant and bar. Full descriptive Itinerary:
1st day: Transfer to the Orinoquia Lodge. Lunch. Small hike to an open point in the woods with a panoramic view over the Orinoco river.
2nd day: We visit some villages of the PIAROA tribe, learn about their way of life, their agriculture and local plants, many of which are used for healing purposes. They also show us how to make baskets, hammocks as well as traps which are used for hunting. While walking through the jungle we can observe the leaf cutter ants at work full speed. The afternoon offers recreation - a natural Tobogan amidst all the wonders which surround us here will end in some delicious pools. Great fun indeed!
3rd day: Boat trip on the Orinoco river
We take a trip up stream, observe many small waters meeting the mighty river and “inhale” lush and abundant vegetation all around us. With luck some fresh water Dolphins might greet us, Otters and birds of course! You’ll have enough time to take a swim or sunbathe on one of the water banks which form during the dry season.
4th day: City tour to Puerto Ayacucho
After breakfast we visit the Capital of the Amazon State, renowned for its Museum for Indigenous culture. On our visit to it, we can learn about the history and customs of the various tribes living here. Afterwards  we’ll take a look at the colorful marketplace in town where you will find many attractive handicrafts, made here by local people. This visit ends our trip here where we leave you at the airport for yor flight to Caracas.
