ROQUES NATIONAL PARK
Los Roques, precious jewel in the Caribbean sea, is located about 70 nautical miles (128 km) north of Venezuela's International Airport Maiquetia. It counts with at least 50 different sized islands, imposing white sand beaches and a multicolored sea, shimmering from soft green to a scale of different blues- - breathtaking, unreal, absolutely enchanting! These islands not only impress by what one can see above water, it even more so will get you excited after having seen the kaleidoscope of colors under water. Fish and coral reefs compete to impress the visitor and will have you dream about it at night.
Naturally you will met up with lots of fishes such as: blue Marlins, King fish, Grouper, Red Snapper, Lobsters, excellent Bonefish, schools of other small species and perhaps even some turtles. Sorry to say that you may not fish here at all - since these islands are National Park and protected as such. However there are possibilities for fanatics to go Bone fishing at certain beaches - contact us. From October to March you might be able to enjoy a delicious Lobster dinner here. For those who just want to loaf and lie around in the sun we suggest that by all means you come prepared with sun protection and hat, since there are absolutely no trees at all! offers six Posadas in the town of Gran Roque. Vistalmar, El Muelle and
La Plaza, are of "Superior" category
while Naturaviva, Las Palmeras and Macabi are "Standard"
category.
All are equipped with ceiling fans and private bathrooms. Guests enjoy daily outings to the different islands of the archipelago in the fleet of sailing catamarans which include snorkeling, beach games, kayaking (optional) and some of the best beaches in the world. Lunch is served on board the catamarans. Scuba diving and Bone fishing are also available as optional activities.
