| Excursion
to Chuao
A recommended excursion from Pto. Colombia: CHUAO! For the very curious we suggest that you'll visit Chuao, next fishing village along the coast and only accessible by boat. This village was among the very first to be founded in Venezuela and is today the most ancient village in the state of Aragua. Thousands of years before Columbus landed here, it was the home of the Caribe Indigenous, which were allmost completely extinguished after colonization. Much later on it became famous for its excellent cacao plantations, which up to date are still producing the best cacao in the world. |
