This park was named after the famous Swiss Scientist who classified a large number of plants in the country, some of them endemic (nonexistent in other parts of the world). The winding road will take us up hill and then decend gradually through dense rain forest ending in what could be called “avenue of tall trees” each one of them measuring at least 196 feet ( 65 m). These woods are also the home of countless birds and butterflies. More than 540 species of birds have been recorded in this park. 

All at once the dense forest opens wide to a spectacular view of the sparkling and blue Caribbean - Choroni and  Pto. Colombia at last, destination of your trip.

CHORONI is a well preserved colonial village which has maintained all its charm from times past. It offers small inns in this relatively quiet place compared to PTO. COLOMBIA.

If you continue down the road towards the ocean you'll get to the small fishing village of PTO. COLOMBIA (20 minutes walking distance), which also offers quaint guesthouses (Posadas) to spend a night or more,  in pleasant , relaxing surroundings.

Useful hints:

• We advise you to definitely have reservations if you plan to stay on a week end or holidays!
• If you drive, DO NOT FORGET to fill up your tank, since  neither on the way or in the village you'll find a  Gas Station. 
• To go by bus Caracas - Maracay and Maracay - Choroni (cheap!)  
• Transport with bilingual Guide or Taxi is also available and can be arranged through us.
